I'm Back!

It's been 3,5 years since my last post. A lot has happened. I've been hospitalized for a year and still recuperating from that ordeal. I won't get into details (unless you have questions about it), but I'm happy to be back.
One of the things that I had to pick up is this blog. I had a good thought about it and I'm planning to make a monthly post in which I tell all that happened in the previous month. All my FO's, WIP's, the socks I knit, and of course published and/or new patterns.

Let's start with the continuation of the last post of 2016. I posted a teaser of what you could do with the leftovers of the blanket. I mean this blanket, my 'Dots and stripes' blanket.

You can turn the leftovers into a wonderful wrap and the beauty is, that you can download this pattern for free. Just follow the link to the Velvet wrap

I hope you like my first post and I'll be back soon to tell about January. My FO's, WIP's and new designs of that month.

Leftover yarns, what to do with them?

Last week I gave you the pattern of the 'dots and stripes' blanket, made with Colour Crafter Velvet from Scheepjes. When you make this blanket, you'll discover that when you are finished, you have leftovers. As you can see on the photo above. This is hardly unavoidable, but you can do fun stuff with those leftovers. What I did with them, I'll show you next week. I do hope you can knit?

Knitted Zahra shawl

 A while ago I published the pattern of the Zahra shawl. You can find the pattern here Zhara

This shawl is crocheted, but I can imagine that your not able to crochet or you don't like doing it (What I really can't imagine, but ...)

 For it may be that you are a true knitter at heart. What should you do if you really like this pattern? I came up with the solution. I just made a knitting variation. And this is how it looks;

Want het kan zijn dat je in hart en nieren een echte breister bent. Wat moet je dan als je het patroon ook mooi vindt? Daar heb ik nu de oplossing voor. Ik heb het patroon nu ook in een brei variatie gemaakt. En dat is deze geworden;

For this shawl I also used the beautiful yarn from Scheepjes;
2 skein Invicta Colour 951
1 skein Invicta Extra 1347
1 skein Invicta Extra 1340
But you can also choose your own combinaties.

Voor deze shawl heb ik ook weer het mooie garen van Scheepjes gebruikt;
2 bollen Invicta Colour 951

I hope I made all the knitters happy and that you'll come back next week, because then the pattern will be available here.

Nina cowl

Last week I revealed my new pattern. For this cowl I used the beautiful yarn from Scheepjes, Stonewashed XL. This week I will show that instead of the pastel colors of last week, there are more beautiful color combinations possible. This yarn comes in many colors and you can combine infinite.

Voor deze col heb ik gebruikt / For this cowl I used;

2 bolletjes / skein Blue Apatite 845
1 bolletje / skein Boulder Opal 844
1 bolletje / skein Black Onyx 843
1 bolletje / skein Corundum Ruby 848

This col is one example, but if you look at the color chart, you can see surely have more opportunities.

What combination would you make?

Welke combinatie zou jij maken?

New knit project

Another new project and a free pattern. I'm going to use the wonderful yarn from Scheepjes; Stonewashed XL. It is a super soft yarn of 70% cotton and 30% acrylic. This time I'm not going to crochet but knit and I'm going to do this on a circular knitting needle.

What also really works with these skeins, is the beginning. Very practical from the middle and at the beginning of the thread you'll find the label, 'easy start'.
Volgende week zal ik het patroon onthullen. Ik hoop dat jullie weer langs komen.

Next week I will reveal the pattern. I hope you will come along again.
