Stripes, stripes, stripes!

I designed a new shrug. This fun striped one.

I used beautiful yarn from Scheepjes, Cotton 8. I love working with it. It is soft and comes in 48 great colors. It doesn't split and it washes well.

It is perfect for summer clothing for adults, children and baby's. You can use it for amigurumi's and blankets. I'm sure you can think of more possibilities.

This shrug comes in 5 sizes; S, M, L, XL and XXL

Deze bolero komt in 5 maten; S, M, L, XL en XXL

I used 5 colors for the shrug. Of each color you need 1 skein. Except for the sizes L, XL and XXL. For the main color you need 2 skeins.

Velvet colour cafter

A while back Scheepjes came with the beautiful yarn 'Colour Crafter'. It's a beautiful yarn of 100% acrylic, with a silky touch.
This yarn is ideal for rugs and other home accessories, as well as clothing and amigurumi's.

Now they come with a sequel in the form of Colour Crafter Velvet. This supplement has 8 colors and is perfect to combine with the Colour Crafter. It has a vintage feel and the look of old and worn velvet. Each color is named after a Hollywood movie star, like Hepburn, Bogart or Monroe.

I will use all eight colors for my next project. It's going to be something I have not made before, so pretty special with this beautiful yarn.

Will you come again next week and see what I've done with this yarn?

Do you remember the wool that I bought last week? These were those fine strands that you still have to turn into a ball. I do not often these strands and if I did then went strictly to my knees.
This lady shows exactly how I've always done it.

This lady shows exactly how I've always done it.

Another nice way is with a buddy, who holds his hands up for you, as you can see below on the nice old Dutch scene.
Since I do not have such a cozy buddy, I decided to buy a wool winder / mill.

And it works. Why I have never met such a thing in the house? Very nice if you're interrupted by the phone, the doorbell or your cat would just play. You can just walk away from it. No hassle to put away carefully in the hopes that nothing happened to it.

A few hanks I'll have to wind.
Goed gekeurd?
And while I'm so playing with the hanks, I can not resist making fun combinations. What do you think? Approved?
Hoe wind jij je strengen op?
How do you wind your hanks?
