I'm Back!

It's been 3,5 years since my last post. A lot has happened. I've been hospitalized for a year and still recuperating from that ordeal. I won't get into details (unless you have questions about it), but I'm happy to be back.
One of the things that I had to pick up is this blog. I had a good thought about it and I'm planning to make a monthly post in which I tell all that happened in the previous month. All my FO's, WIP's, the socks I knit, and of course published and/or new patterns.

Let's start with the continuation of the last post of 2016. I posted a teaser of what you could do with the leftovers of the blanket. I mean this blanket, my 'Dots and stripes' blanket.

You can turn the leftovers into a wonderful wrap and the beauty is, that you can download this pattern for free. Just follow the link to the Velvet wrap

I hope you like my first post and I'll be back soon to tell about January. My FO's, WIP's and new designs of that month.

Leftover yarns, what to do with them?

Last week I gave you the pattern of the 'dots and stripes' blanket, made with Colour Crafter Velvet from Scheepjes. When you make this blanket, you'll discover that when you are finished, you have leftovers. As you can see on the photo above. This is hardly unavoidable, but you can do fun stuff with those leftovers. What I did with them, I'll show you next week. I do hope you can knit?

Stripes, stripes, stripes!

I designed a new shrug. This fun striped one.

I used beautiful yarn from Scheepjes, Cotton 8. I love working with it. It is soft and comes in 48 great colors. It doesn't split and it washes well.

It is perfect for summer clothing for adults, children and baby's. You can use it for amigurumi's and blankets. I'm sure you can think of more possibilities.

This shrug comes in 5 sizes; S, M, L, XL and XXL

Deze bolero komt in 5 maten; S, M, L, XL en XXL

I used 5 colors for the shrug. Of each color you need 1 skein. Except for the sizes L, XL and XXL. For the main color you need 2 skeins.

Now crochet along a long side also with black / Kelly a row of dc, make in each tr a dc, turn! (= 221 dc)

Finally add one more strip with just the 10 blocks!

Make sure all the colors are lined up the same way!

Start on a short side on the 4th tr from the corner (dtr) and make a standing dc with Kelly / black. dc 1 in each of the next tr (18 tr), *dc 1 on the joined 2 dtr, dc 1 on each of the next tr*, repeat from * until the next corner.
